Matt Howlett
WAIS Cycling Performance Scientist & Bike Fitter
Matt is a PhD candidate in Sports Biomechanics, researching bicycle saddle comfort in conjunction with AusCycling and the Australian National Cycling Team. Having completed a bachelor's degree in Sports Science and an Honors degree in Sports Biomechanics, Matt is currently employed by WAIS as the cycling performance scientist conducting Bike Fits and biomechanical assessment, aerodynamic testing and optimisation, performance and physiological testing, training prescription and load management.
Matt has previously raced for an NRS team, competing at a national level and has experience racing in Europe. He is passionate about the sport of cycling and enjoys helping others achieve their goals on a bicycle.
When not working, Matt loves family time with his wife and two young children, frequents the beach with friends and family, appreciates good coffee, and enjoys pushing pedals with old friends.
